Frequently Asked Questions
We understand that choosing the right care for a loved one is important, and we’re here to provide you with the information you need.
In this section, you’ll find answers to common questions about our services, personalized care approach, and what makes ExqusiCare small care homes a truly unique and supportive environment.
What Level of Care is Provided?
We offer personalized care tailored to each resident’s needs. Whether your loved one requires minimal assistance with daily activities or more comprehensive support, our team can help.
Our dedicated staff, including nurses and Health Care Aids, ensures that all personal and health needs are met. We also collaborate with community services and home care providers to enhance support, allowing residents to remain in their ExquisiCare home for as long as possible.
What Level of Care Cannot be Accommodated?
While we pride ourselves on having one of the highest staff-to-resident ratios in the industry, there may be circumstances where a resident’s care needs change significantly. In such cases as aggressive behaviour, persistent yelling, or wandering, our staff will work closely with residents and their families to explore alternate care arrangements prioritizing safety for everyone involved.
Are You Subsidized?
Our residences operate as private community care facilities and do not receive subsidies. However, residents with long-term care insurance may be able to claim their rental and accommodation fees through their insurance provider.
Are the Rooms Furnished?
Our common areas are beautifully furnished to create a welcoming environment. Residents are encouraged to bring their bedroom furniture, including a twin or double bed, a dresser, and a chair. We’re here to help personalize their space to make it feel like home.
Is Laundry Included?
Regular laundry services are included in the service fee. While dry cleaning is not covered, we can help arrange these services.
What are the Visiting Hours?
We embrace a flexible approach to visiting. Families and friends are welcome to visit anytime, reflecting the home-like atmosphere we cultivate.
Can Elders Have Their Telephone?
Each bedroom has a telephone, cable, and internet connection, allowing residents to set up their own phones, televisions, and computers. Cable and internet charges are included in the monthly fee, while phone service can be arranged through the provider of their choice.
Do You Have a Resident/Family Council?
Yes! We value the input and involvement of our residents and their families. Our Resident Family Council meets monthly to discuss concerns and suggestions.
Is Smoking Permitted?
Smoking is not allowed inside the home for all residents’ health and comfort.
Can Family Take Elders Out?
Absolutely! We encourage residents to enjoy outings with family and friends. Just let our staff know the estimated return time, and we’ll ensure any necessary medications are ready.
