Last year marked a monumental chapter for ExquisiCare, positioning itself as a key player in the healthcare landscape by joining the esteemed Saint Elizabeth Health family on April 3rd, 2023. This transformative collaboration not only elevated our corporate standing but also ushered us into a new, innovative office space.
In a commitment to our valued employees, we proudly embraced the title of a Living Wage Employer, surpassing minimum wage standards to ensure equitable compensation and a quality standard of living. Recognizing the dedication of our long-serving team members, we celebrated their milestones with service awards at a delightful staff BBQ. capping off the year with an unforgettable all-staff gathering filled with camaraderie, delectable dinner, refreshing drinks, and entertaining festivities.
A noteworthy highlight from 2023 was the announcement of the government of Alberta's capital grant program for small homes. Seizing this opportunity, we eagerly applied to construct and operate several of these homes, particularly in the northern regions of Alberta. This initiative aligns perfectly with our mission to serve small rural communities, and we are thrilled to contribute to its success.
Our integration with the Saint Elizabeth Health family continues as we lay the foundation for further growth, setting the stage for a promising and successful 2024. We are particularly optimistic about our involvement in the capital grant program, confident in our ability to make a significant impact.
Looking beyond provincial borders, we are enthusiastic about extending the small home model of care to British Columbia and Ontario. Advocating for changes to funding models with both provincial and federal governments is a crucial step in making small homes more accessible and affordable for seniors seeking this level of care.
